Statement Regarding Death of Sacramento High School Student on Friday, August 22
Sacramento High School and the entire Oak Park community are mourning the death of our student who was tragically shot and killed last Friday evening at a party. As is the case when any person dies too young, our students, staff, and parents are in shock at a life that was tragically, an unnecessarily ended by violence.
Though this young man had only been a student at Sacramento High since the school year began, we consider him one of our own. On the football field and in the classroom he demonstrated respect for his fellow players and classmates, a hard working attitude, and a desire to succeed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as they grieve.
A grief center has been set up on campus, where counselors are available to meet with students. As always, Sacramento High School is committed to providing students with a safe campus, and will ensure that student’s needs are met during this difficult time.
