John O’Con – Sac High Athletic Director

John O’Con says his favorite thing about St. HOPE Public Schools is seeing the growth and development of our scholars both academically and athletically. John oversees the top-notch athletics department at Sac High where he is continually impressed with the scholars’ performance on and off the field. He knows first-hand what school and sports can do for a student says he is proud that Sac High puts scholars on a trajectory for success.

John says he pursued a career in education because some of the most influential people in his life have been educators. The guidance and support he received from them put him on a path to success and he wants to have the same positive impact on the lives of others.

Before coming to St. HOPE Public Schools, John was an Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher at a charter high school in Sacramento. He also taught elementary and middle school physical education in Fairfield, the city where he grew up. John played multiple sports at Fairfield High School and went on to graduate from Ottawa University where he received a B. A in Physical Education. He also received an M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Cal Baptist University. In his free time, John enjoys playing video games with his family and loves to cook and listen to music.
